Don Bosco Primary School Namugongo: Bye Bye P 7 candidates

Since the days of staying at Don Bosco Nursery and Primary School are numbered for our candidates in P.7 (Primary Seven), we already started to say bye and wish them success in their primary leaving examinations (P.L.E), which they have started today (October 28th) with a briefing. As a way of saying“ciao” to them, the school organised last Saturday a party commonly known around almost all the schools of Uganda as “leavers’ party” at Kavumba recreation centre, Wakiso. The P 7 candidates started the journey from school at 9:30 am accompanied by some of the school staff members. Having stopped for some time on the way to buy some items, we reached Kavumba at 11:30 am and immediately started enjoying ourselves at the recreation centre due to its big and welcoming environment with different activities for fun for both the young and old people, such as swimming, wildlife, circus, horse riding, dancing etc. At 1:40 pm, after being “blessed” by rain, we shared a nice and delicious meal and then everyone started to enjoy him/herself to the maximum. It was at 8 pm that we left Kavumba and we arrived at Namugongo at 9:30 pm.The following day, despite the fact that the P 7 candidates were tired, they had again to attend another very important event: a blessing mass in the presence of their parents, staff and the whole catholic community of Kira-Mulawa, praying to God that He grant them success in their exams. The holy mass started at 9:00 am in Don Bosco catholic chapel presided over by Rev. Fr. Pascal Shauri,  assisted by  Rev. Fr. Wilfried Mushagalusa sdb. To conclude, at the end of the Eucharistic celebration, the candidates’ parents were requested by the Head teacher of the school Mr Ochom Sebastiano to go to school and check on the academic performance of their children during the previous school tests. May Mary Help of Christians and Don Bosco, the patron saint of our school, intercede for them so that they may produce good results in their national examinations.
