Inauguration of Ntinda Parish

This Sunday 07/09/2014 that the Sub Parish of Ntinda has emerged as a full-fledged Parish.  Earlier, this Sub Parish was under the jurisdiction of Naggulu Parish. This new Parish is dedicated to Saint Charles Lwanga its Patron.  The event was so colorful. The Guest of Honor was the Vice President of the Republic of Uganda accpompanied by  5 ministers, members of parliaments and many other political  authorities of the country.  The Archbishop of Kampala his Grace Dr. Cyprian Kizito  Lwanga was the main Celebrant surrounded by 15 priests among them our confrere Fr. Elie Nyandwi.  As Jesus says:”New skin, New wine”. The Archbishop has appointed a young priest as parish priest of Ntinda, Reverend Father Edward Muwanga to energize the pastoral and liturgical activities there. This new Parish priest has been welcomed acclamation of joy and resounding hand clapping. He promised to be an active member of each family of the new Parish.  Our Brass band and acrobatic groups were invited to emhance the event. The parishioners and many guests numbered approximately   2000. Since 2009, this new Parish Church was built by the contribution of the parishioners themselves helped by many organizations and enterprisers of Uganda. ‘’The dream has become true’’ said the new parish priest, in his speech.

The telecommunications agencies such as: MTN, Airtel, Orange have given big contributions. The National media like NTV, Radio of Uganda, Radio Maria, Radio Sapientia etc, have also played a big part in realizing this ‘chef d’oeuvre’ majestically built.

In his Speech for the event, the Archbishop of Kampala has invited the parishioners of Ntinda Parish to work as a team in order to finalize the works of the surrounding areas. The same spirit of team work will enhance the love, faith and unity in the Parish. “There is no doubt at all, I want Ntinda Parish to be the model Parish among other Parishes in my Archdiocese.” He continued to remind the parishioners in these terms:

You are privileged to have been inaugurated as a Parish in this year when we commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the Canonization of the 22 Uganda Martyrs (1964-2014). As you rightly celebrate the gift of the new parish, I would like to remind you of your joint responsibility to maintain and support the development of this Parish. Support your priests and one another.

The Eucharistic celebration was long.  Started at 11.30 with the solemn procession under the martial tunes of our brass band of Don Bosco CALM Namugongo, it ended around 6.00 PM. Every body had something to munch before we left homewards in a joyful mood.

A Day to remember- We felicitate our Brass Band and Acrobats of Don Bosco – CALM – Namugongo!
