Acrobatics at the heart of CALM

Acrobatic team of CALM with Mr Youssouth from Rwanda, in white T-shirt, teaching Yoga to the beginners in acrobatics.

The mission of CALM is to rescue, to rehabilitate and to reintegrate into society, destitute children through provision of education basic needs and social cultural activities for a bright future.  With this in mind, children at CALM have decided to join acrobatics in order to fulfill their dreams at the highest maximum level.

This year we have two acrobatic trainers from Don Bosco Gatenga (Kigali-Rwanda) who dedicate all their time for uplifting the acrobatic skills in the life of the children of CALM. As per now, the two trainers from Rwanda are emphasizing on training all our children who are in primary education, due to the fact that their bodies are still flexible. In order to motivate, the community of CALM has come up with the idea of providing new and smart uniforms to motivate the acrobats to love this beautiful sport. In the same way, the management team of CALM aims to advertise the acrobatics group of CALM in whole of Kampala and even beyond Kampala.  We do believe that within a year, the acrobatics group in CALM will tremendously develop very soon. We only face the challenge of getting a convenient acrobatic carpet, some bicycles with one wheel, and acrobatic masks among others.  Apart from the acrobatic group, CALM offers many other opportunities ( such as brass band, Jazz band, Youth alive group, and other games ) in order to expand skills and knowledge useful for the bright future of the children.
