Children rights, roles and responsibilities

The sharing started by a prayer and then the Director of Don Bosco CALM, Fr. Jean Marie  Mushibwe welcomed the social workers who had come to share with our boys their rights, roles and responsibilities  He also introduced the people in the community i.e. priests brother aspirants, social workers. The director also encouraged the boys to participate in order to gain more from these social workers and he officially allowed the social workers to share what they had for the boys.

The guest group started by defining what are human rights, where they said that these are natural rights given by God, a person is born with and must be protected and respected. They went ahead and told the boys that every right has its own responsibility and for that right to be respected the boys should ensure that they take responsibility of them. They had also to discuss some of the children’s rights and these are shelter, food, education, security, healthcare, clothing and others. This is where the boys were told to take responsibility of these rights in order their rights not be abused. In conclusion  each , social worker advised the boys to be responsible for whatever they do, to co-operate ,to share, to respect each other especially the elders, and to love God our father for the gifts he gives each one of us.
